The Pirates of Dark Water

This is a PAL sample, different than the USA Prototype on SNESCentral, but another copy of the white label version. Apart from being in a case, there are only a handful of differences between all the versions I compared: USA Prototype, Europe and Europe Sample. For the most part, the USA Prototype matched the Europe final closer than the Europe Sample did.

The Europe Sample title has the string SAMPLE VERSION clearly at the top. The missing PRESS START is simply not picture as it blinks in all version.

As noted on SNESCentral the license screen has been shuffled around, moving the license string LICENSED BY NINTENDO to the title screen.

The Europe Sample has a LEVEL SELECT, as seen on The Cutting Room Floor article that lets you toggle between 01, 04 and 05, this is missing from the USA Prototype version.

Level 1 - Dragon's Maw - USA Prototype / Europe Sample

The USA Prototype appears to have no shadow under the player, but is otherwise the same from what I saw. The flying creatures are randomly placed in the background.
